How to take part in the Semakau Sport Fishing League?

SFAS Semakau Sport Fishing trip will be an on going Fishing League, base on point system, there will be total of 07 trips to compete for the League Champion and a final shoot out in October 2009.

Those who do not wish to take part in the league can also go during this time.

Objective:
To award Angler with the BEST monthly catch.
The League Champion at the end of the year will receive the Championship Shield/Trophy which will be display at fishing tackle shop of the anglers' choice.

League Rules:
Open to public and SFAS members.
Official monthly fishing League will be set by SFAS.
All catch are awarded with points. (Refer to Points List below)
Max. of 2 boats per trip or 22 Anglers.
3 points are awarded to paid and present Anglers when participating for the monthly League.
Participant will be given a colour number badge with measuring tape to be worn at all time during the Competition. All colour number badge has to be returned at the end of fishing hours for redemption of the 3 points.
All catch must have 3 photos.
(1) Close-up of Angler holding fish with his colour number badge clearly visible.
(2) Close-up of the fish with his colour number badge clearly visible.
(3) Angler holding fish with his colour number badge clearly visible and showing the environment [Wider shot of (1)].
(4) Note: All photos MUST be taken by a digital camera. (Hand phone camera are not allow for catch submission)
SFAS official Judge/Guide is final.
Anglers with catch report must submit before 1:30pm at the designated location/shelter.
Note: Late submission will not be entertained.
Any dishonesty will be disqualified from the League totally.
Medal/Award will be given at the end of the fishing hours.
After the 07 monthly league we will award the highest point accumulated angler as the "League Champoin".
The League Champion, monthly Winner and Anglers with highest accumulated points will compete again for "Champion of Champion".
SFAS have the rights to change the prizes or cancel the event without prior notice.

League Champion:

Champion of Champion:
S$700 worth of prizes(sponsor by Lure Haven), and S$300 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$100 voucher plus S$150 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch).
1stRunner up for Champion of Champion:
S$200 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$80 voucher plus S$100 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch)
2nd Runner up for Champion of Champion:
S$100 voucher (sponsor by Sincere Fishing Tackles), S$50 voucher plus S$50 hamper of products (sponsor by SureCatch)

Fishes measuring minimum length of 10 inches(25.4 cm) and above will qualify for the entry of the competition.

* Others-Types of fishes not within the above categories, measuring 10 inches & above, SFAS official Judge/Guide will decide on awarding the points
 
 

SEMAKAU LANDFILL SPORT FISHING
Rules & Regulations

1. Anglers are to abide strictly by the instructions conferred by the SFAS fishing guides leading the fishing groups to Semakau Landfill and regulations of NEA / Semakau Landfill management.
2. Anglers must demonstrate proper conduct and practice good fishing ethics and etiquette.
3. Anglers are to use artificial lures or flies for sport fishing and not to use any organic baits ( dead or alive ) in all fishing activities.
4. Anglers are to keep Semakau Landfill premises clean at all times. All waste materials carried to Semakau Landfill by the anglers must be removed from the fishing grounds at the end of the fishing activity.
5. Anglers are to stay out of the water at all times. Fishing in the water is strictly prohibited throughout the fishing activity.
6. Anglers are to embark and depart from Semakau Landfill in accordance to the time as prescribed by the NEA / SFAS.
7. Anglers participating in Semakau Landfill sport fishing shall undertake absolute responsibility for personal safety and security and shall unconditionally indemnify the Sport Fishing Association & National Environment Agency against any claims whatsoever resulting from accident, negligence, loss or damage in connection with the fishing activities held on Semakau Landfill
8. Anglers are to keep within the designated fishing grounds and are prohibited to wander into any Semakau Landfill operations / production installations or a facility at all times.
9. During thunderstorm and occurrence of lightning, all fishing activities must cease and anglers are to take refuge for personal safety.
10. All fees paid are non refundable irrespective of payee’s subsequent cancellation or withdrawal from the fishing trip.
11. For personal safety reasons, anglers are advised to form groups or at least in pairs before venturing out from the main fishing group. And SFAS fishing guides must be informed and consent granted.
12. Anglers signing up for the fishing competition are to register at the SFAS appointed centers and submit a SFAS registration form together with the full fee payment. The registration is not transferable to another person.
13. All registration will be treated on a first come first serve basis. When the number of registrations for each fishing date has been fully filled, SFAS will not accept any further registration.
14. SFAS have the rights to cancelled or postpone the competition and provide a full refund, under unforeseen circumstances.
