Categories available in this International Angling Olympics :
1. Boat Fishing.
2. Rock Fishing.
3. Lake Fishing.
4. Surf Casting. |

Contest Rules
For :-
1.
Boat Fishing Catergory : (Boat, Deepsea or Spinning tackles
involved.)
| (a) |
The target
species are: Trachurus japonicus, Scomber japonicus,
Auxisrochei, Parapristipoma trilineatum, and Trichiurus lepturus.
The length of the fish (from the nose to the inside of the v
on the tail fin) has to reach twenty centimeters, and score
according to the total weight. |
| (b) |
The contest
location is the sea area near the north Taiwan. |

2. Rock
Fishing Catergory : (ISO tackles involved.)
| (a) |
The Scarus
Psittacus is the primary target
species, Siganus fuscescens is the secondary one.
The length of the fish (from the nose to the inside of the v
on the tail fin) has to reach twenty centimeters, and score
according to the total weight. |
| (b) |
The contest
location place is the Peng-Hu Islands. |

3. Pool(Lake)
Fishing Catergory : ( Pole Tackles not more than 5.3m long.)
| (a) |
Scarus
Psittacus is the only target
species. The length of the fish (from the nose
to the inside of the v on the tail fin) has to reach 10 centimeters,
and score according to the numbers of the fish. |
| (b) |
The contest
location place is the Bi-Hu Park of Taipei, Taiwan. |

4. Surf
Casting Catergory :
| (a) |
Two types:
the length of the cast, and the 100 meters accuracy pitch. |
| (b) |
The contest
location is by the Keelung River bank-park of Taipei, Taiwan.

Contestant
Preparation
| 1. |
Contestants
MUST prepare their own fishing equipment, only one fishing rod
is allowed. |
| 2. |
Contestants
who attend Boat Fishing and Rock Fishing must wear life vests,
which the organizer/host country will provide. |
| 3. |
Rock fishing
contestants must wear life vests and antiskid shoes. |
| 4. |
The competition
is run through an elimination process. The winner of each round
progresses to the next round. |
| 5. |
The organizer/host
country will provide the bait. |
| 6. |
The contestants
must obey the judges and their rulings. |
| 7. |
In each
fishing contest category, including Boat Fishing, Rock Fishing,
Lake Fishing, and Casting, the organizer/host country will provide
prizes to the top six winners. |
| 8. |
The contestants
have to respect the natural resources in which they compete.
They must compete fairly and competitively and obey the “World
Anti-Doping Code” which commits contestants to maintaining
an anti-doping and anti-drug environment. |
| 9. |
All contestants
have to participate in opening and closing ceremonies. |

| |
Prizes
for the Individual Catergory.
| 1. |
During
the contest, the organizer/host country will provide participants
food, accommodation, and transportation (plane tickets from
Taipei to the Peng-Hu Islands is excluded) for free.
* The staff and contestants who go to the Peng-Hu Islands for
the Rock Fishing contest will be charged a 150 USD agency fee
(including plane ticket). |

The organizer/host
country will provide the participants with caps, T-shirts, towels,
and souvenirs.
Boat Fishing and Rock Fishing Catergories

The
champion will receive a trophy, and prize money of 20,000
USD |

The
first runner-up will receive a trophy and prize money
of 10,000 USD |
| •
|
The
second runner-up will receive a trophy and prize money
of 5,000 USD |
| •

The
fourth to sixth place getters will receive a trophy. |
Pool(Lake) Fishing Catergory
| • |
The champion will receive a trophy, and prize money of
10,000 USD |
| • |
The
first runner-up will receive a trophy and the prize money
of 5,000 USD |
| • |
The
second runner-up will receive a trophy and the prize money
of 3,000 USD |
| • |
The
fourth to sixth place getters will receive a trophy. |
Surf Casting Catergory
Casting contest: the winners are the contestants who cast the
farthest and most accurately.

The
champion to the sixth winner will receive each a trophy.

Itinerary
for The 3rd World Fishing Cup:
Thursday September 8th to Monday September 12th in 2005. (five days,
four-nights)
| Day
one: |
Contestants’ arrival, and registration at Jian-Tan Youth
Activity Center (to be confirmed). In the evening there will
be an opening ceremony and a welcome party. |
| Day
two: |
Morning:
Fishing practice and the first-round of competition fishing;
Afternoon: Second round of competition fishing. The captains,
staff and relatives of each nation come to visit contest activities. |
| Day
three: |
Morning:
Semi-final contest, Afternoon: Finals contest. Captains and
staff of each nation are to attend the International Conference. |
| Day
four: |
The contestants
go sightseeing in the daytime, and participate in the closing
ceremony and the farewell party in the evening. |
| Day
five: |
All contestants
depart for their countries. |
