SPORT FISHING
Rules & Regulations
1. Anglers
are to abide strictly by the instructions conferred by the SFAS
fishing guides leading the fishing groups to Semakau Landfill
and regulations of NEA / Semakau Landfill management.
2. Anglers must demonstrate proper conduct and practice good fishing
ethics and etiquette.
3. Anglers are to use artificial lures or flies for sport fishing
and not to use any organic baits ( dead or alive ) in all fishing
activities.
4. Anglers are to keep Semakau Landfill premises clean at all
times. All waste materials carried to Semakau Landfill by the
anglers must be removed from the fishing grounds at the end of
the fishing activity.
5. Anglers are to stay out of the water at all times. Fishing
in the water is strictly prohibited throughout the fishing activity.
6. Anglers are to embark and depart from Semakau Landfill in accordance
to the time as prescribed by the NEA / SFAS.
7. Anglers participating in Semakau Landfill sport fishing shall
undertake absolute responsibility for personal safety and security
and shall unconditionally indemnify the Sport Fishing Association
& National Environment Agency against any claims whatsoever
resulting from accident, negligence, loss or damage in connection
with the fishing activities held on Semakau Landfill
8. Anglers are to keep within the designated fishing grounds and
are prohibited to wander into any Semakau Landfill operations
/ production installations or a facility at all times.
9. During thunderstorm and occurrence of lightning, all fishing
activities must cease and anglers are to take refuge for personal
safety.
10. All fees paid are non refundable irrespective of payee’s
subsequent cancellation or withdrawal from the fishing trip.
11. For personal safety reasons, anglers are advised to form groups
or at least in pairs
before venturing out from the main fishing group. And SFAS fishing
guides must be informed and consent granted.
12. Anglers signing up for the fishing competition are to register
at the SFAS appointed centers and submit a SFAS registration form
together with the full fee payment. The registration is not transferable
to another person.
13. All registration will be treated on a first come first serve
basis. When the number of registrations for each fishing date
has been fully filled, SFAS will not accept any further registration.
14. SFAS have the rights to cancelled or postpone the competition
and provide a full refund, under unforeseen circumstances.
