Terms & Conditions by SFAS
- SFAS organizes only
day fishing trips to Semakau Landfill. No night fishing trips
shall be allowed. Likewise, no one is allowed to remain on the
island overnight.
- SFAS will publish
the fishing dates
in the SFAS web site at http://www.sfas.net. Anglers are to register
at the designated registration centers and fill up a registration
form, NEA Consent form together
with full payment. Registration without full payment will be deemed
as invalid and void. Registrations are neither transferable nor
refundable.
- Anglers registering
for the Semakau Landfill sport fishing must be of 12 years of
age or above. Anglers aged below 18 years are to download, print
out both side and complete the NEA
Consent Forms with parents or guardians signature before proceeding
to the designated registration centres.
- Registration for
each trip shall be based on “"first come first serve”
basis". SFAS / registration center will not accept any further
registration after full registrations for the trip has been attained.
- Anglers to use artificial
lures or flies for sport fishing on Semakau Landfill and are strictly
prohibited to use organic baits ( dead or alive ) for fishing
activities. Hardbody lures are to have a maximum of 3 treble hooks.
Flies and jigs are to have only single hooks.
- SFAS fishing trip
to Semakau Landfill is strictly on a Catch & Release policy.
Anglers must release all fishes caught into the water. No angler
is allowed to take away any fish caught in Semakau Landfill.
- SFAS reserves the
exclusive right to cancel and / or postpone any trip to Semakau
Landfill
- SFAS members shall
pay a one time fee of $30 per trip and non-SFAS members shall
pay a one time $40 per trip as nominal fee for covering ferry
transport and administrative costs for organising the fishing
trip. The fee excludes food, drinks, fishing tackle, rain gear
etc and anglers must self provide all such personal necessities.
- All fees paid are
non refundable regardless of payee's subsequent cancellation or
withdrawal from the fishing trip.
- Anglers are to keep
within the designated fishing grounds and are prohibited to traverse
into any Semakau Landfill operations / production installations
or facility at all times.
- Anglers to assemble
at West Coast Peir before 7.30 am on the date of fishing trip
and must produce personal identification(Non
Singapore citizen Please bring along Passport)
for marine police verification at the West Coast Peir prior to
ferry embarkation.
- Anglers must abide
by all instructions directed by the SFAS fishing guides and comply
to the regulations prescribed by the National Environment Agency
/ Semakau Landfill management.
- All anglers and fishing
guides participating in Semakau Landfill sport fishing shall undertake
absolute responsibility for own personal safety and security and
unconditionally indemnify both Sport Fishing Association ( Singapore
) and National Environment Agency against any claims whatsoever
resulting from death, accident, negligence, loss or damage in
connection with the fishing activities held on Semakau Landfill.
Anglers and guides are required to sign NEA and SFAS indemnity
forms when registering for the fishing trip to Semakau Landfill.
- For personal safety
reasons, anglers must form into groups and seek consent from SFAS
fishing guides before venturing out from the main fishing group.
- Anglers are to stay
out of the water at all times. Fishing in the water is strictly
prohibited throughout the fishing duration ( by order of NEA ).
- Anglers to keep Semakau
Landfill premises clean at all times. All waste materials are
to be removed from the fishing grounds and disposed off in proper
waste collection bins.
- For personal safety,
anglers must stay clear of the concrete culverts interconnecting
the demarcated cells (lagoons) by order of NEA.

Anglers shall demonstrate good conduct and proper fishing ethics
and etiquette when fishing on Semakau Landfill.
- During thunderstorm
and occurrence of lightning, all fishing activities must cease
and anglers must take refuge for personal safety.
- SFAS reserves the
right to amend and change these rules and regulations as as when
it is deemed necessary and appropriate.
